Borders

This week, M.I.A. released the powerful and self-directed video above through Apple Music.  The song, Borders, is from her forthcoming fifth album, Matadatah (another song from the album, Swords, was previously released as part of her Matadatah Scroll 01 project).     Never one to shy away from the political, M.I.A. uses this song and video to draw light on the global refugee crisis and to question the types of borders constructed between people.
